Spring Newsletter – Theosophical Society of Victoria
Dear Members, Friends and Guests who have previously inquired of the Theosophical Society (TS) of Greater Victoria re: email, text & phone calls.
This update is to provide you with a little information regarding your reaching out for more detail on our local section group within the Worldwide TS Society.
Since 1892 the TS group of Victoria BC has carried the identity of peacemakers, first expressed through the 1ST TS Charter of Victoria called the Victoria Kshanti TS, Kshanti which means: “patience sweet that naught can ruffle”.
In 2026 that ideal is being deeply tested. The world is saturated with information, opinion, algorithmic influence, and psychological pressure, often leaving little space for reflection, silence, or inner discernment.
In late 2025 Our local group, decided with the chaotic change upon us, that taking a pause for a needed break was a good option, however: the urgency of the times has shed a ray of light on the in-coming energies that a better preferable option, would be, that continuing the meetings would find likeminded personalities seeking each other.
In July 2025 the Twelfth World Congress of The Theosophical Society was held in Vancouver, BC commemorating 150 years (1875-2025) of the Theosophical Society with the 12th Congress Theme: Toward Insight and Wholeness: Our Role in Shaping the Future. The benefits of the presentations discussed during the World Congress can be used as topics for the coming years within our meetings.
The purpose of this Newsletter is to let you know that revitalizing the Victoria Lodge by publicly meeting once again, one would have a place to explore Theosophy and Spirituality including Religion, Science and the Arts in an age of overwhelming knowledge, anchored by the artificial Intelligence umbrella of global uncertainty.
There is no cost to attend Theosophical get togethers, however membership is needed to remain a viable Society. We are registered with the Provincial and Federal Governance as a Bonafide Registered Educational Forum that may issue tax exempt receipts for membership or donations.
To establish a regenerative course of the Ancient Wisdom while we walk a refreshed path forward, it is proposed as an agenda, that we meet weekly to review and ask questions for discussion such as:
- What does the Society stand for if we are non-political, non-sectarian. non-therapeutic, non religious—-What? in essence, are we?
- Is Theosophy best understood today as an existential exploration of Perennial Widom: (Spirituality in Action)?
- How does Spirituality within daily life function when the mind is continually occupied and rarely at rest?
- Are we in the Present Day witnessing the visible struggle for the Peace in Humanity amid Global Upheaval?
- Does the Paradox of the emerging age, signal the dissolution of old ideas, emotional patterns and identities that reach questioning the core of Theosophy?
- What is the role of honest self-enquiry, inner listening and responsibility of self in an era of Artificial Intelligence? Whose voice do we listen, when the mass narrative available offers only a naïve view of information? Does the Voice of the Silence offer explanation? Maybe It is your internal voice that whispers the answer.
- Can the Victoria TS Society serve as a space for clarity, discernment, and inward stability rather than belief in absolute authority or psychological dependence that presently holds the autocratic sway?
The intention of resuming meetings again is not to provide Doctrine, Therapy, or Ideology but to open a contemplative atmosphere aligned with the original Theosophical impulse: to inquire, to listen inwardly, and to rediscover trust in deeper capacities of human consciousness.
The general outline of this newsletter reflects the main objects of the Theosophical Society which are:
To form a nucleus of the sister/brotherhood of humanity without the distinction of race, creed, sex, caste, or color. It is a Worldwide Society dedicated to fostering unity, studying comparative religion, science, and investigating the unexplained laws of nature.
Enlightenment is the freedom of the Soul re-discovered on this plane of existence, linking Matter, Soul, and Spirit as synthesized by life.
If this Newsletter correspondence, aligns with your personal understanding and the aims of the Society then we would welcome your presence at a meeting for the opportunity to provide input in discussions, which may add clarity to others travelling a similar direction.
Some say Theosophy has become a victim of its own success now that Science has advanced so rapidly making it difficult to keep up. But does the critical thinker follow the crowd?
